“I have advice for people who want to write. I don’t care whether they’re 5 or 500. There are three things that are important: First, if you want to write, you need to keep an honest, unpublishable journal that nobody reads, nobody but you. Where you just put down what you think about life, what you think about things, what you think is fair and what you think is unfair. And second, you need to read. You can’t be a writer if you’re not a reader. It’s the great writers who teach us how to write. The third thing is to write. Just write a little bit every day. Even if it’s for only half an hour – write, write, write.” ―Madeleine L’Engle

I remember that Quote, since Madeleine was my idol I remember a lot about her. She is the reason I write. I remember she had her personal journals in her office and wanted them burned when she died, they were untouchable. I solved 30 years 10 years ago by throwing those years out, now the pile grows again. I adored Madeleine. I loved your art, I loved that you quit your art classes because I did too and I always felt inadequate and uncreative – but as it turns out both of us are great artists we just didn’t know it. I will sign up this summer and do something as you did. You are brave brave brave – that’s from a record I had or my kids had, I remember those lyrics and the tune, but can’t remember much except the brave part. It will come to me in a while maybe. . Pollen count really high today and the desert wind is howling and I just turned on my baby humidifier, I’m going to inhale now.
